Ribbon Wax - Wax Resin - Resin

Ribbon is a thin film strip used in barcode printers that enables printing onto labels using a heat transfer method. The ink layer is dissolved by the heat of the print head and transferred to the label surface, creating a permanent print.

There are generally three main types:

Wax ribbons are economical and suitable for paper labels.

Wax/resin (mixture) is more durable.

Resin (or resin-based) is the most resistant option to chemicals, abrasion, and high temperatures, and is used in synthetic labels such as polyester and PP.

The correct ribbon selection should be made according to the label material and the usage environment.
